A Dream ©

John C Gillies
Edinburgh, Scotland
1998

Had a dream about you the
other night.
As you were passing by,
I called out, you turned and smiled,
the way you always did.
I tried to touch, and grab
hold of you, and bring you
back with me.
It was like an explosion going off,
it awakened me.
Covered in sweat, heart beating fast,
this dream was real to me.
I thank you for the look into
the after-life you gave me.
