Advent ©

Stella
Fife, Scotland
2006

Advent is a purple time
Glorious in rich colour
Candles lit in anticipation
Count down the days

One step nearer to Bethlehem

Within the Advent wreath
A crown of welcome
I see white and red
But I sense purple within

Purple is a regal colour
Bows and ribbons
Tie our hopes
A centrepiece for a King

Advent is a purple time
Rich and glowing
Candle flames show us
The way to Christmas morn
