"A Fishin' I Would Be" ©

David Lee Sulgrove
Nine Mile Falls, USA
2003

When I long
to hear
natures song,
"A fishin' I would be."

When the troubles
of the world
come rushin' in,
"A fishin' I would be."

When silence
and solitude
is what I need,
"A fishin' I would be."

To feel Scotland's
lakes, rivers,
and streams.
To wander through
her nature's scene.
"A fishin' I would be."

In heart and mind
I hear the call.
I really don't care
if I catch any at all.
"A fishin' I would be."
