Alive! Awake!

Annonymous
2000

If you have any knowledge of the origins of this poem or of its author, please contact us.

Gaze falls, unfettered
Dust
Conspires
The raddled strains of time

Dull blackened pace
The sidewalk rolls
Like clouds before his eyes

Alone and killing insects
Tending rubber bands like vines
Old liar sleeps
He only keeps
That which he's left behind

Child's hoard of bluing pennies
Red re-occurring dream
Drones endless
Molds
Regurgitating
Ghost in his machine

Alive.. but never breathing.

Awake ...but not quite listening.
