A New Flag ©

Stella
Fife, Scotland
2005

When the dove returned
Those in the ark saw
That faith had paid in kind
A branch of olive
A new start

If only a dove would
Bless the shores of Asia
with a new emblem. a flag of peace
made from stripes and stars
and on it a dove

this flag would be worn
seen and be saluted
by man woman and child
and there after devastation
proof that the world cares
