Apres The Fox ©

Frank E Gibbard
London, England
2005

Isn't it ignoble to chase the fox?
A noble creature that lives in the same world
As we by some means of providence.
Its crime is to seek a living just as we
Must eke out existence as we may
Just to live another day.
It may kill not to eat but because it is driven
By natural instincts it has been given
But we need not control in the name of sport
In the inhuman way that some ancestors taught.
Cull away cull away cull away I say
But please my fellow people find a righter way.
