April's Moods ©

Stella
Fife, Scotland
2008

April wears her lemon dress
Giving hints of gentleness
An illusion that the frost is gone
Yet I forgive her chilly morns

By coffee time the sky shows blue
The washing dries and pavements too
Lunch brings little showers of rain
Then like magic warmth again

A fickle girl our early April
Her ribbons unfurl as flower beds
Yellows pinks and shades of reds
As day by day her flowers thrill
