As a Lamb Without Armour ©

Stella
Fife, Scotland
2005

As a lamb without armour
Their only common aim
To reach a destination
No chance to say “no thank you”
To tell of plans as yet unfulfilled

Like a whirlpool sending messages
Of loss of potential…things left undone
Grief will visit homes and sit at the fireside
In the place of a missing soul

We who at a distance grieve
Send loving blessings
For the days and years to come
Feel sorrow for the endings given
Which were not asked for
