A Tormented Soul ©

Alan Shand
Cumbernauld, Scotland
2004

Waves crash
Upon the shore
I've held her close
But I need more
With such emotion
Not like before
From deep within
My very core

A love I know
Which cannot be
A tormented soul
She cannot free
A love so deep
Just like the sea
If she had a choice
Would she choose me?

To see the look
Upon her face
To feel the heart
Within me race
To feel my arms
Around her waist
To touch her lips
Or even taste

To enter a room
Where she once stood
Her perfume would linger
Lifting my mood
Enriching my life
And filling my heart
Enhancing my day
Till when we must part
