Very long ago now
25 years to be exact
You were in the middle
of your life
when death became a fact
Losing you was hard
I could not believe
then it was true,
Now it has been a quarter century
that I've been missing you
Time plays tricks sometimes
Many candles on my cake
I'm older now
than you were then,
There must be some mistake
For in my mind
you are still here
but fate could not allow
Time had other plans for us...
I'll blow out these candles now
