Bygone Days ©

Anthony Ewen
Filey, England
2003

Of bygone days my mind doth roam
Of childhood memories of home
A land such as again never found
A place where forever my heart is bound

The land to where I must return
To restore and re-affirm
My family, my self, my name
My identity to once again proclaim

My son to hear his stories past
Of peoples proud and steadfast
Of the call to journey to travel through
Yet to the land to return, to renew

Of bygone days my mind doth roam
Of a father's memories of home
