Children ©

by Joe T. Kiff Sr.
Houston, Texas, USA
1988

The blessings God sends every day
To help us through life's rain
Are brought by tiny messengers
With wisdom pure and plain

What joy a tiny laugh can bring
What balm in trials sore
What graciousness in clumsiness
Is crawling on the floor

How warm their wide-eyed wonder
How great their love can be
How soft and sweet in peaceful sleep
How wonderful to me

Yes, each child brings a statement
That should ring within us true
That each new entry to the world
Says God is not yet through
