Christmas Cheer ©

Ian McCrae
Sydney, Australia
2006

Christmas time will soon be here
Candle lights and Christmas cheer,
Celebrations all around
Snow flakes falling on the ground.

On Christmas days of long ago
The stars in the heavens were all aglow,
A smile on all the children’s faces
Singing songs and singing praises:

Kneeling down, thank you Lord
Raise your voices in one accord,
Thank you for this Christmas day
Your commandments we will all obey.

Christmas in the years ahead
Will include man sharing bread,
Christmas time will soon be here
Candle lights and Christmas cheer.

I have shared my time with you
What else dear Lord, can I do,
The very best is yet to come
Thank you dear Lord, for your son:
