Con-nec-ted! ©

Nat Hall
Sandwick, Shetland
2004

Double U,
double you,
or dot or two
to reach
my friends...
cyber crawlies
stuck on
cobwebs -

YOU [Reader]don't belong to them!

ten digits dance
on grey
keyboard,
....am I that widow
with eight legs?
My virtual
limbs held
in limbo
until http: appears!
A hyper link
to surf
this world -
kilobytes run
along the silk,
zillions of
threads!
That ride is
wild,
micro-seconds
tight at
high speed,
I'm...
con-nec-ted!
My minitor glows
in darkness,
like supernovas
in deep space...
all is
silent until
I press
the
wrong button -
hell,
I cannot
harm this
computer, I'll
type again
those
damn keywords (!)
....Am
abseiling
cascades of
sites -
accessing doors
without
knocking; like
that spider
afraid of
rain (!)
or
loneliness...
Time to
switch off,
reality
so
limited.
