Daydreamer ©

Josephine Duthie
Aberdeen, Scotland
1997

Time stands peacefully still,
Submitting ideas as dreamers at will
Build visionary castles of copious desire,
Creating images built to inspire.
Allowing romantic ideas to take flight,
To laze in the warmth of utopian night.
Deliciously free from normal routine,
Sublimely sedated, calmly serene.

Designer of beauty ambitiously spread,
Quixotic visions dreamily read.
Extreme fabrication engages the trance,
Hypnotic conduction performing the dance,
To faraway places encrusted with gold
Where fairy-tale characters never grow old.
Lost in the daydreamer's fantasy world,
Star-gazers bask in wonders unfurled.
Encased in a blanket of fanciful rhyme,
Lost in the daydreamer's perception of time.
