Dedication to the Spirit of William Wallace ©

by Megan Berry
California, USA
2002

As tall and strong as an oak tree,
With a nation that is wounded.
It just needs some needle and thread.
This nation can't be taken for granted.
I need something from my green land.
Give me some earth!
Let me throw it at the enemy on the other side,
So they see what it is like for us to live.

I will fight for my land!
Give me your weapon.
Let my reins go, to see me run after them.
Paint shadows on my face,
They will not recognize me.

I want my vengeance!
It has been burning red hot in my heart,
To get back at the person who has hurt my loved one,
And made me suffer.
