Discovering Greatness in Small Pleasures ©

(Written at Inverbeg Inn, Inverbeg, Scotland, UK.)

Jan-Jaap Reinders
Groningen, Netherlands
2005

Resting my exploration
In the arms of a beer
Smooth cold experience
I now hold more dear

Comprehending a taste
Which, rare to the mind,
Has given a thrill
I before could not find

The joy of my pleasure
Has clouded my sight
As I lay down to sleep
Fulfilled with delight

How special can small
Be greater than great
As freedom and chance
Lead me to my fate
