Dreams of Eternity ©

Mike Barclay
Münster, Germany
2004

My dreams
My longings
Live near beside my heart
Mountains of gold and silver
Glens full of wonders
Like fairytales in the moors of secrets
Blackbirds in the trees
Singing a melody
The heather is in full bloom
My Scottish Rose is whispering
Tales of ancient times
The atmosphere is glowing
And my dreams
Sail to the horizons of a Scottish freedom
To the gates of a garden
Where crystal flowers live
And in every crystal leaf
There grows my own Scottish dream
Since generations
A dream of freedom
Chains will be broken
Like ice they melt in the sunshine
And eagles let me fly on their wings
Over the country of my birth
