High tides split the underboil
and sharp fingers bulge
through skins of light
fingering the air.
Their streaming chaos
reaching this way and that,
like tireless dancers pirouetting
winds on jagged seas of ice.
Anaemic grotesques,
aimless hypnotic swirlings
caught in spiral orbits,
spin wildly among frenetic seabirds.
A bleached nakedness
of skeletal framed ghost ships
and man-felled forests,
slip silently into cold mists
on their journey to nowhere.
