Roots of stone
rise unfettered out of the earth;
crenellations of cobble
burnish with pride that cascades
into the Firth of Forth.
Regnant towers
buttress a countryside
its kinsmen esteem
greater than crowns of
priceless jewels preserved within.
The colors of the kingdom
stream in an icy breeze,
seizing vast gray skies
that cry out with the will of
immortal generations:
"In freedom we shall stand!"
"In freedom we shall stand!"
