Epitaph for a Monkey ©

Nat Hall
Sandwick, Shetland
2003

I believe
in life before
death;
whether on Earth
or in the
sky...
all around us
the world
is sad -
don't laugh at me,
I lost my breath.

Could imagine
life after death;
clinging to
trees in cloudforest,
lush canopies
kissing the sky -
angels and birds
of paradise
watching the world
burn like a fag...
don't laugh at it,
could lose my
faith (!)
