Everyone Cries Sometimes ©

Andrea R M Fletcher
NY, USA
2003

Did someone say not to cry?
Boy, be a man,
Smile, when you feel like crying.

Boy, you are a wimp if you cry.
Boy, be a man.

I say, boy, embrace the sadness you feel.
Cry when you want to,
Smile if you wish to.

Did someone say cry?
Little girl, be a girl,
Woman, be a woman,
Naturally it is ok, for you to cry.
Ok, cry if you must,
Because sometimes I cry.

Proclaim your rights,
Cry, when you want to,
Scream if you have to.

Dams give way to the tears,
Releases your pain,
Diminishes all denial.

Face reality
Accepting is a base to spirituality.
Oh yes, it is necessary to cry,
Everyone cries sometimes.
