First I Saw Your Name ©

I was searching and was unaware
Someone could become my soulmate
The word never passed these haunted lips
Yet my spirit scanned beyond the human gate
Probing, searching while I lost myself
Among life’s myriad of wasted deeds
And promises and duty and family
Till I came to be inviolate of needs
Tormented by an unrelenting memory
Insatiable wild in the ether of my soul
Hurling thoughts about my fluid brain
Subconscious ever pressing for its goal
Then I saw your name for the first time
Upon a virtual page of artful poetry
Now those letters spell an endless joy
Your name plus I Love You is sweet sixteen to me
