Flashlights of my Life ©

Note of the authoress: My German original is a rhyme

Sonja Nic Rafferty
Germany
2006

A lot dreamed of
Often in vain
Rebelled against
Run after
The luck

Gang up
A bit
Father lost
Years ago
Oath of allegiance
Keep one's head

Flashlights
These thoughts
Dense fog
Around longing tendrils
Travel to lands
Of ancestry
Quite beside
With waving flags

Flashlights of my life
A lot longed for
Often in vain
Be modeled on
Thunderstorms
Above Aberdeen
Not bitter anymore
Long past forgiven
