They entered my house through windows
And made their way to cupboard
With their hideous paws
Left no coign of house unexplored
Soon they gnawed Milton, Shaw and Dickens
And digested medical manuals at once
Perforated my shirt from collar to cuff
And tried their teeth even at plastic stuff
Depraved creatures! they mutilated my files
Reducing my library to garbage piles
They ate with gusto even my mark sheets
Devoured insurance policy and first aid kits
Then invaded electrical appliances
grinder, TV and washing machine made useless
Then one day dropped in an angel with
friendly mew, she knew how these devils to
subdue
