In Dreams ©

Irene McIsaac
Whitby, Ontario, Canada
2003

When asleep
They will travel to another world
Where barriers are non existent
Where age, race and culture
Are of no consequence

When asleep
They will meet face to face
For the first time ever
They will meet not as strangers
For they know one another so well

When asleep
They will walk side by side
In a meadow of flowers
Laughing and singing
Thankful for the moment

When asleep
They will join hands
Sharing the warmth and the beauty
Of their special friendship
Which will last forever

When asleep
They will look into each other's eyes
Seeing truth, honesty and love
Knowing they were destined to meet
If only in dreams
