January Wind ©

Sonja Nic Rafferty
Germany
2005

the front garden changes its colour from snow white to grey
January wind plays with the rests of ragged rockets
from a boozing New Year's Eve in the village
January wind plays with the rests of rockets
that fall from the roof like my dreams
whereas in some countries
real rockets fire
and far away in South East Asia sorrow is not easy to relieve
January wind plays with the rests of ragged rockets
sadly I cry above fragments of my lost hope
January wind plays with the rests of rockets
nobody can stop falling dreams
everywhere sadness rules
all fall silent
