Life’s Little Wonders ©

I hear her voice and laughter sweet,
I am a child again,
Happiness fills my very soul,
In an instant, I smell the sweet scent of life,
Innocent through her eyes.
I am alive; there is a spring in my step,
My heart sings each moment we are together,
I see the wonders of the world,
A Bird, a flower, a butterfly,
The morning sun and evening stars.
A tear I hold within my eyes, when we say our sad goodbyes,
I love you to the moon I call,
I love you more, she cries,
I turn and think, I cannot wait,
till once more I see,
My darling little granddaughter . . . Ashley McGee.
