Tears fell on the flower-laden coffins
Wilting the blossoms.
It was a day of cold raw silence,
Nothing moved.
Terror came from the skies,
Opened Manhattan's wounds and
Warped a million minds.
Echoes clogged the air,
Rusting future dreams into
Stagnant yesterdays.
