An impulse buy
A touch of exotic
For these cold climes

She resisted flowering
Held on to her blooms
Left to her own devices
She grew fatter

Just before I banished her
She teased me
Held the promise of blooming
She rewarded me

My lesson learned
Patience and time
Taught me well
