My Dying Wish ©

John Bearcat-Redmond
Fife, Scotland
2004

If I can close my eyes at night and know that you are near
How much my life would be complete, I shed a gentle tear
Of happiness and feelings, of inner joy and glee
I would waken in the brightest sunlight and I'd declare my love for thee
I would feel your body by my side, which would fill me full of glow
And now my heart would be ever warm, like the last of the summer snow
