Never Alone ©

Never am I that alone, that I can only hear my breath.
Never am I that alone, that I think I am close to my death.
Never do I ponder the loneliness I feel,
for there is God in Heaven and loneliness is not there.
Never do I sit alone and watch the clear blue sky,
for God shines down his mercy when I see those clouds float by.
Never am I that alone that I don't think of other days,
the days when I pray for kindness when I lay awake in pain.
Never am I that alone when I talk to myself sometimes,
for there is someone always with me that I may talk to all the time.
Never do I feel alone, alone enough to cry
because God the Lord in Heaven is forever by my side.
