New Arrival ©

Anne Dickson
Irvine, Scotland
2007

A special new arrival,
Is the best gift in the world.
It does not really matter,
If it's a boy or it's a girl.

The new parents are so happy
And they are filled with glee.
They sit and hug their baby,
As it rests upon their knee.

They look at their new baby
And can't believe it's theirs.
It has such tiny hands and feet
And needs a lot of care.

They take care of their baby,
With kind and gentle hands.
Washing it and feeding it
And making lots of plans.

Babies are a blessing.
I'm sure you will agree.
Having babies in our lives,
Means the world to you and me
