One Day ©

John C Gillies
Edinburgh, Scotland
2000

Our world's on the brink
of nuclear war, when man will
no longer exist.
As the mushroom clouds appear,
and the heat takes our flesh
from our bones.
As the shock wave lays flat
all that we see.
Radiation levels will be high,
from that day, and man will
become extinct.
So take heed, the one's with
their fingers on those buttons.
Stop, think, come back from the brink.
Our earth will look so barren.
If God is out there, then let us
pray, that he can help us, on that day.
