Overwhelmed
By every feature
I've stood so close
Yet could not reach her
With these words
I wish to teach her
Never have I seen
Such a lovely creature

She's no idea
How long I've waited
Months of feeling
So frustrated
Scared of being
The one she hated
Must life be
So complicated?

She did not discourage
She did not reject
She's given me time
On which to reflect
I give her my love
And utter respect
The friendship we had
I hope I've not wrecked
