Is there a God?
I say, "there is." He's known me
for years. He's saved me often
from myself, despite myself, in sight of
my selfish tears.
Was there a man, Immanuel?
I believe there was. He came to earth
to light the way..the Son of God
whose humble birth we celebrate
on Christmas Day.
He hears our prayers.
He's granted mine so many times.
I know He does, and by His love
my shame is eased.
He knows me well.
I am a child...
not innocent but ignorant.
but less so now because of Him...
because of Him and
His quiet ways......
