REMEMBER THEM ©
Jim (Jock) Love
Stonehenge, England
2004
There was glimmer,
But only briefly.
The opaque eyes
For a moment
Sparkled.
Then it was gone.
A muzzy purr
He drooled.
It slowly trickled
Down his chin.
Meandering
To join the rest.
Forty years
Young.
No sign of
Grey or arthritis,
Trapped in
Time.
A man’s
Dreams.
Still young in
Mind.
Those happy
Thoughts.
His tender
Love.
They’re young
Family
A bright new
World.
He
Remains.
All else
Now perished.
One of the
Survivors?
