Gift mortal man, divine parole
Or destined eviction,
The obscurity of our earthly soul
To celestial fiction.

Indifferent thoughts and a vague committal
Are the Holy waters' odious ripple
We must amend,
The Epilogue for mans' acquittal
Would be himself, befriend!
