Rudolph and Santa ©

William Carolan
Luton, England
2004

Christmas trees, fairy lights,
Christmas candles burning bright.
Holly, tinsel, mistletoe,
children playing in the snow.
All part of the celebration
taking part throughout the nation.
Presents 'neath the Christmas tree
some for you, some for me.
Children waiting for Christmas day
knowing Santa is on his way.
Trying to guess what presents they'll get.
Will it be a toy, or maybe a pet?
So excited, it's hard to sleep,
counting all those woolly sheep.
"Time to sleep now." mother would say,
"Rudolph and Santa are on their way..."
