Scotland, Here I Come! ©

My feet just start moving when I imagine
The traditional music sounds of Scotland
I've lost too much now I can only win
I loved to take part in Folk Festivals with a band
Scotland, here I come, your native daughter
My life has been a bridge over troubled water!
My eyes just start moving when I imagine
Stirling Castle greeting from far so proudly
I've lost too much now I can only win
Cannot stay calm any longer, have to call loudly
Scotland, here I come, your sad loser
I've always suffered, call me soul boozer!
My hands just start moving when I imagine
The shipyard downtown, Granddad's working place
I've lost too much now I can only win
Dundee, you always put a smile on my face
Scotland, here I come, your lost child
Coming to discover shores so beautiful and wild!
My memory just starts moving when I imagine
The school where I was allowed to teach
I've lost too much now I can only win
Broughty Ferry I wish I was at your white beach
Scotland, here I come, your busy student
Teach me all about Caledonia, how prudent!
My skin just starts moving when I imagine
The salty wind in my hair from the Scottish Sea
I've lost too much now I can only win
Oh, let me hear the seagulls cry at Arbroath's quay
Scotland, here I come, your enchanted mermaid
I swam around your waters in the nightshade!
My feelings just start moving when I imagine
You Scotland in the golden autumn sun
I've lost too much now I can only win
For me a new era of discovery has begun
Scotland, here I come, your passionate globetrotter
Always carrying sketch pad and jotter
My soul just starts moving when I imagine
The history of a land treated by conquerors badly
I've lost too much now I can only win
Always have missed you truly, deeply and madly
Scotland, here I come, your wild "Braveheart"
Give me a second chance for a new start!
My heart just starts moving when I imagine
I've never met my father but he's deep in my heart
I've lost too much now I can only win
What was destiny's reason keeping us apart?
Scotland, here I come, your true offspring
Celtic songs in the highland valleys to sing
My thoughts just start moving when I imagine
Everything in Scotland I had seen and done
I've lost too much now I can only win
And hopefully I'll trust one day I will have won
Scotland, here I come, your good old friend
From across the sea best wishes I send
