Scottish Hearts ©

Robbie Kennedy Bennett
Wolverhampton, England
2006

A Scottish heart is a wonder,
Brave is the Scottish heart,
Scottish hearts are all over the World,
They long for the land they depart.

No matter where they live their day,
And a foreign song is sung.
No matter what other voices say,
They long for their home mother tongue.

They may walk in sunshine at Christmas,
They may drink sangria or wine.
Their hearts will remind them of Scotland,
When they sing 'Auld Lang Syne'.

They sing of the lochs and the highland hills,
The Tay, The Forth and The Clyde.
When they sing 'The Flower of Scotland',
Their hearts will fill them with pride.

Scottish hearts are all over the World,
Many a mile they may roam.
There is nothing on earth
Like this glorious land,
Scotland will always be home.
