Silently ©

Note by the authoress: My German original is a rhyme but it wasn't possible to keep that without changing my intention too much.

Sonja Nic Rafferty
Germany
2005

Since I have left you in March
Silently I suffer permanently
Yet the precious gift is missing
To ignore you against my will

Since I went away from you
My heart beats even louder
As I canít get you out of my mind
And salt burns on my skin

Since my last adventure trip
My paper has proved to be patient
Waiting for me secretly and quietly
Unstoppable, I am now writing here

Since magic gardens have been frozen
Dreams temporarily ice over
Gateways open only for hard liners
Headwinds bite the wounded soul

Since I have had to leave you - Caledonia
