Stages of Grief ©

Stella
Fife, Scotland
2004

Stages of grief
Disbelief. it cannot be so
Then as we bargain a bit
Promise a bit..
But it will not
Cannot go

So where are we today
We have been to the bank
Bought a fundraising coffee
and pledged some more money

But when I drive to the shops
Pass woodland ..river..homes intact
I just know in my heart
That we are all like corks in a pond
Bobbing back and forth
But some were near the wrong pond
At the wrong time
Vulnerable to earths quaking

Acceptance the final stage of mourning
How can we accept. we were not there
