I like my room with flowers in bloom
The dusting done
Rug straight and cushions tidy
In the summer
I enter having done my tasks
In my flower beds
Sunlight playing hopscotch
On the rug
The warmth highlights the lilies
And the geraniums on the window sill
And I bless the setting
Waiting to be enjoyed
I like it better still
When company is at my back
And the kettle boils
As china mugs wait
Home is my haven
Texture colour and comfort
Some may have their temple
These walls envelope me
I feel sure as we share
What lies in the Tupperware box
That you too
Like my room in summertime
