Take me to Mars Please! ©

Shmuel Yacobi
Lancashire, England

What is man and whence is he?
Where to find his womb and key?
In moons or Mars or bars of gods,
In wars of nations, house of lords?

Knows or not, he goes on well,
Feeds or not, to dust to dwell.
If all are human, need the same
Why to fight and die for name?

Find the poor and weak to know
The secret how they live on so
It's life that lives and death that dies
And men do witness both empires

Now let me live in Mars alone
To know and grow the secret sown
Of peaceful life in deadly strife
If not then call me 'dust of life'
