Tanja ©

Baba
Stewarton, Scotland
1998

I'm watching Tanja learn to swim
She's thrashing every single limb
It's not as if the water's deep
Cause on the bottom rests her feet

It doesn't matter no-one knows
Who cares where she puts her toes?
Maybe 'Teach': she may care
Perhaps she isn't being fair

She watches teacher like a hawk
Cause when her back's turned she can walk
From this she gets lots of fun
I've seen her sometimes even run

Tanja's not like other folk
She gets through without a stroke
I only wish that she would try
And not emerge just quite so dry
