THE CHRISTMAS NURSES ©

Tri Tran
California, USA
2005

Nurses, in Christmas outfits,
Hum carols to cheer up those broken hearts
That are, yet, to be mended.
The fourth floor, telemetry unit,
Forever, joyful...

Nurses, in Christmas outfits,
Dance like ballerinas as the pass out toys;
The faces of the lads and lasses,
Light up with sparkling joy.
The pediatric, third floor, shines.

Nurses, in Christmas outfits,
Entering patients' rooms
On the geriatric, fifth floor;
They hug each patient with friendliness
And give their kind touch to each lonely heart.

Nurses, in Christmas outfits,
Whisper merry Christmas to patients
As they take the vital signs
Or stop the bleeding...
The emergency room blazes in joy.

Nurses, in Christmas outfits,
Hover around the doctors on the hall way,
Wishing them a very, merry Christmas
While beaming happily...
The hospital's scene gleams, brightly.
