The Last Farewell to Germany ©

O, goodbye yesterday's liveliness,
Where is the Earth's joy sailing to?
O, those last words before memories fade,
Today has no meaning because Germany lies in stillness.
The silver stains of sweat and tears of the stars,
Gleaming under the lonely, night sky,
Beg for the last goal to be scored, once again
And long to hear the roaring crescendo of the soccer fans.
O, farewell to the world class soccer players,
Where do they go from here?
The world cup, now, in a vortex of dead silence,
Awaits to scintillate again four years later,
While the champion's halos glisten their shine upon the five continents.
