The New Kings of the Jungle ©

by Andy Gemmell
Scotland
2001

Do not forsake me team manager
for I logon at 9 each morn
and like a dog and his bone
I love my headset and my phone

Give me a banana
And I'll take the call
Through the spiritual darkness
Of the call centre hall

My manager is the king of the jungle
We're selling this lot in a bundle
And don't wear your hair all punky
Or you won't make it as a phone monkey

Also don't come in all drunky
Even if it's Irene's birthday
And don't cause a rift
By bunking off your shift

We're the new apes
In shirts and ties
And we're here
To tell their lies
