A poet's eye sees beyond the sunset
Connects bliss and benevolence
Sent from some sky God
who warms our hearts and souls
She sees all potential lying
In the cot of a new babe
She sees a bundle of possibilities
And a chance to change the world
When connecting with an elder
Whose time is rationed
The poet sees radiance
And a straight back
The gift of weaving words
Warms like a tweed jacket
Caresses like spun silk
Feels truth where others cannot
The unshed tears a poet keeps
Mingle with the laughter yet unused
If shared with others
Can release hidden hurts
Kindly Angels who disperse at birth
Talents to small souls to carry
through the life's path
Smile when the poet raises her eye
